Oriental Watch Company X Grand Seiko Watch Exhibition
From now until December 31, 2024, you are invited to visit the Oriental Watch Company store at 50 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong, to experience the Grand Seiko exhibition. This exhibition will feature Elegance Collection SBGY035, inspired by the autumn dawn at the Hotaka mountain range, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 9R Spring Drive. The gradation on the dial reflects the moment when the sun begins to rise. This beautiful scenery is expressed by the dark red color at the dial’s periphery gradually becoming brighter toward the center. Combined with the silent glide of the Spring Drive seconds hand, the dial captures the natural passage of time.
SBGY035 offers a remarkable blend of slimness, power, and precision. At just 10.2 mm thick, it has a power reserve of 72 hours and an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month, thanks to the manual-winding Spring Drive Caliber 9R31. Presented on a red-brown crocodile leather strap, this new creation will be available as a limited edition of 700 at Grand Seiko Boutiques and select retail partners.
Additionally, the exhibition will showcase Masterpiece Collection SBGZ003 from the Micro Artist Studio, featuring the innovative Caliber 9R02 with an 84-hour power reserve. This model includes a power reserve indicator visible through a sapphire crystal case back, highlighting a unique design inspired by the bellflower.
Moreover, Heritage Collection SBGA413 will also be on display. Its dial transports you to Hana-Ikada, the cherished scene shortly after the spring equinox, Shunbun, when cherry blossom petals scattered by the wind cover the surface of a river. The textured dial and its pale pink color capture the magic of this treasured moment in the Japanese calendar, expressing not only the beauty of Sakura but also hinting at the exquisite pleasure derived from a profound understanding of the ephemeral nature of time.
