Oriental Watch Company Limited, pulled the champion horse as the attribute of the success of 2015 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy“Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day”.
Following three years of success, Oriental Watch Company and The Hong Kong Jockey Club proudly announce the fourth edition of Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy 2015 cum the first-time ever “Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day” to be held on 25th October, 2015 at Sha Tin Racecourse. To echo the origination of horseracing as an upper-class event in Europe, the organizers cordially invite fashionistas and guests to attend the races in attires adorned with bow-ties or bow-related elements. In order to officially announce the details of the unprecedented event, a press conference was held at Oriental Watch Company flagship store, 100 Queen’s Road C, Central, Hong Kong.
The press conference commenced with two warm welcome speeches by Mr. Dennis Yeung, Managing Director of Oriental Watch Company and Mr. William Nader, Executive Director, Racing of The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Then, the two gentlemen unveiled the details of the 2015 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day” and announced the races named after the popular watch brands. The three designers Suki Tsui, Ophelia Jacarini and Marc Allantesharing, who were invited to design fabrics that combine the elements of time and horses for the production of limited-edition bowties and commemorative products such as twilly, square cashmere scarf, pocket squares and medium clutches, came on stage to share their design concepts. Suki Tsui adorned the fabric with a splash of playfulness by converting watch movements and horses into silhouette; Ophelia Jacarini created an abstract illustration making use of fluid lines in depiction of horses, gear wheels and movements of a tourbillon while Marc Allante presented running horses within movements with his unconstrained brushwork. These items will be available for sale on the race day at Sha Tin Racecourse, and at a pop-up store at Oriental Watch Company flagship store on 100 Queen’s Road from 27th October to 3rd November. They have also brought three showpieces themed with bow-tie and time. Suki Tsui’s bow-tie is composed of various leather straps. Leather, a durable material glows with time, symbolises that Oriental Watch Company and The Hong Kong Jockey Club keep their finger on the pulse of fashion despite their long-standing history. Paying tribute to Oriental Watch Company’s contribution in introducing numerous world-renowned watch brands to Hong Kong, Ophelia created a bow-tie with movements from various watch brands. Finally, Marc Allante adopted ink splattering, an energetic form of abstract art, to decorate bow-ties. The resemblance between them and flourishing flowers represents the prosperity of Oriental Watch Company.
Mr. Dennis Yeung, Managing Director of the Oriental Watch Company and Mr. William Nader, Executive Director, Racing of The Hong Kong Jockey Club were presented a bow-tie-shaped cake by Ms. Samantha Ko.
