Bronze was the material used in deep diving helmets of the 1950s, and it matches the theme of the watch. Equipped with the Oris Caliber 771 automatic movement, water-resistant to 100 meters. At the back of the case is engraved with Brashear's helmet and his word “It’s not a sin to get knocked down. It’s a sin to stay down”. This watch is limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide and are extremely unique.
To commemorate Carl Brashear, Oris had previously launched two limited edition bronze diver watches. Both watches are based on the Oris Dive Sixty-Five watch series, and this year will be the first time to incorporate bronze into this major watch collection. In the past 3 years the Diris Sixty-Five serie of vintage diving watches has been popular with watch enthusiasts. The Divers Sixty-Five watch uses the latest Swiss watchmaking technology, with retro features such as curved scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass and a corrosion-resistant stainless steel case.
In addition to diver watches, the iconic Oris Big Crown Pointer Date is also available in a bronze version. The watch uses a 36mm bronze case. The bronze case will react with the moisture in the air and the pH of the wearer's skin over time to form a layer of rust. Therefore each watches will become different over time – the watch will be as unique as the owner. The light green dial of the watch is inspired by the coloured keyboard in the book of Le Corbusier, the godfather of modern architecture. The watch presents a sense of avant-garde metropolis.
